Feng Shui Basics

       Feng Shui, Feng What?
We all know how important our surroundings are. A home that receives extra attention makes it a haven for all who enter, and Feng Shui takes this belief a step further. An ancient Chinese practice, developed over 5000 years ago, Feng Shui is believed to make your life successful and harmonious by merely rearranging your indoor or outdoor living space. It is a very in-depth process and practice that many have spent years studying. Here are just a few basic principals to get you started.

Feng Shui Glossary
Two essential words  to know are chi and shars. Chi is the powerful magnetic energy that attracts good luck and prosperity. Shars are the poison arrows or obstacles that can block the good chi.

Feng Shui Basics -
Steps  to promote good chi.

Ceilings should be painted light colors never  not dark. Dark ceilings are like a cloud over your head and cause bad chi.

Both desks and beds need to be up next to a wall to ground your power. By placing them in the center of a room, your power will float away.

Toilets should never face the front door. If they do, you could be flushing the good chi that enters the home away.

It is always beneficial to have portraits of food or a large mirror in your dining area. This promotes abundance.

Anything made of crystal is good as it acts as a prism and brings in more good chi.

Dandelions are not weeds in Feng Shui and are believed to bring good health and wealth to the house they surround.

Red Geraniums are believed to bring prosperity.

Ponds symbolize success and streams symbolize wealth.

There should be a maximum of three windows for every door in the house.
