Underneath the queen loft, it gives you space to add everything you need right under the bed. You can choose combinations of dressers, chests, or desks to create the storage and study configuration that best suits your needs. Or you can add a few chairs or bean bags underneath for a nice hangout spot. It is crafted of solid birch with a 2000lb weight capacity making it great not only for kids but for teens and adults as well! It is available in a Natural finish as shown, and Chestnut or White finishes. The stairs can be placed on either end of the bed. We are happy with the product, as well as the shipping, and communication up until receipt. I sent an email concerning missing parts within four days of receipt, and have not yet received a response.
