Shipping Information

Furniture shipments traveling within the contiguous United States and Canada travel by specialty furniture carrier or freight carrier. Our international shipments travel via ocean freight and air freight. Case goods may travel by ground depending on the size and weight of the shipment. Most toys ship via USPS, UPS and FedEx ground and air. Lead times vary from one item to the next, please check availability on product pages.

Our furniture is shipped via UPS, FED EX, a specialty furniture carrier, and LTL Freight Carriers depending on the size of the items, delivery location, and accessibility.

The majority of large shipments are delivered with our specialty furniture carrier with a threshold delivery. This is delivery to the first dry door (building, garage, inside front /porch door) and up to 2 flights of stairs (10 steps per flight). It does not include any unpack or debris removal. If our specialty carrier cannot do the delivery, you will be notified and the shipment will be sent LTL. Shipments that are sent LTL include a standard, curbside delivery where the boxes are taken off of the truck but are not brought inside your home. LTL inside delivery are available in some areas for an additional charge.

All of our furniture is shipped fully insured to protect against the infrequent case of damages during the delivery process. When your order is shipped, you will be contacted via email with your tracking information. The tracking number takes a day or two to post after pickup. Standard delivery is Monday through Friday. Weekend delivery may be considered non-standard by the carrier and incur additional charges. Once your order has reached the destination area, the carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment. The carrier cannot hold the order indefinitely and will assess storage fees if delivery is not arranged or if you do not answer the number listed on your order. If you refuse to take delivery, the order will turn into a return.

Shipping Promotion Exclusions and Additional Shipping Charges

Due to factors that affect freight shipping requirements, orders containing only case goods such as dressers, nightstands, desks, bookcases, trundles, and storage drawers do not qualify for most free shipping promotions and may incur standard freight shipping charges. Case goods ordered along with qualifying items such as beds and bed combinations qualify for free shipping promotions.
 
Additional shipping charges may apply for international, Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. Territories orders, and non-standard deliveries. Non-standard deliveries are determined by the carrier. These locations are not eligible for free shipping promotions due to carrier constraints, please check with our representatives for a quote. We can help you find a freight forwarder if you'd like another shipping option. Some examples of non-standard that can incur additional fees include:
  • Delivery to islands like Whidbey Island, Martha's Vineyard, Amelia Island and other difficult to access locations due to their remote location.
  • Locations that are not accessible by freight truck.
  • Special scheduling outside of normal business hours, weekends, holidays, or a specified window of time.
  • Rescheduling of a delivery time due to not showing up for the delivery.
  • Storage charges may be assessed if delivery is not scheduled within a reasonable amount of time. The amount of time varies by carrier.
  • Difficult to access areas requiring extra time including multiple flights of stairs, apartments or condos without freight elevators. This is determined by the carrier, not Totally Home.

International and Overseas Shipping

We have successfully shipped many orders internationally and overseas, but there is more risk. We cannot be responsible for any shipping damage that may occur during an oversea shipment so please have your receiving agent thoroughly inspect your order before it leaves the United States. You will be responsible for arranging additional transportation needs outside of the U.S.
 
Orders shipped outside of the United States may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country. The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by the recipient; Totally Home LLC has no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for more information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates.
