Planning a guest room that can change with your needs? Our Eberhardt Black Queen over Queen Bunk Bed stacks two queen beds now, and can separate later. Both levels take standard queen mattresses. That gives you queen-size sleeping space in a bunk arrangement for a shared bedroom or vacation home. The Black finish pairs with framed beadboard panels on the bed ends. Three-inch square posts give Eberhardt a substantial appearance.

Rubberwood is a hardwood. Together with the posts, metal-to-metal rail connectors and corner brackets, it contributes to the bed’s sturdy construction. Each queen bed has an eight-hundred-pound weight capacity. Guardrails and Euro-slats are included, so no bunkie board is needed. Start your room plan with the frame: sixty-six inches wide, eighty-seven inches long, and seventy-one inches high.

Those are frame dimensions. The angled ladder extends to the floor, so leave additional space to approach and use it. Check ceiling height, too. The short vertical ladder better accommodates optional underbed storage. Either ladder can go on the right or left side of the bed. Choose the bed-only configuration to leave the space underneath open. Or add two underbed drawers with a cubby for bedding and everyday belongings.

For another sleeping space, choose an optional Twin XL or Full XL trundle and add a mattress. Or use dividers for storage. Allow room to pull it out. We recommend queen mattresses up to eight inches thick on both levels. An optional trundle mattress should stay within eight inches, too. When your room needs change, Eberhardt can separate into two individual queen beds. Use them in the same room or different rooms.
